longer nightlife in bangalore?

apparently the karnataka government’s recent proposal to extend the 11.30
pm deadline for 5-star hotels and other eateries has been welcomed by bangaloreans. keshav krishnamurty and divya roy spoke to kripal amanna, the editor of food lovers magazine, to find out what a decision to allow nightlife til 2 am would mean to bangalore. here’s what they had to say…
“I moved to bangalore from mumbai. when I was there, i used to think of bangalore as a happening place. but, since then, there has been a clampdown, and the city is no longer a ‘happening’ place. business groups as well as the rest of the population do more than just transact business. people who come to the city, even if it is just for a while, take back a little of the city with them. relaxing the deadline would help. the extended deadline can help you do a lot more in the evening, and plan things better for the evening.”
makes sense to me. check out what the on air contingent had to say about the possibility of relaxing the deadline…

i’m certain an extension of the deadline would help the nightlife in bangalore. there’s one more thing i’m certain of too…i won’t feel like i’m in gradeschool and have to race home because i’ve got an 11:30 curfew!
we’re all adults here – i think we’re responsible enough to manage the proper timings of pubs, clubs and restaurants. After all, it works in other places in this country and most…
EVERYWHERE ELSE ON THE PLANET!!!
i’ve also learned that we probably shouldn’t get our hopes up – cuz this subject
pops up every year and nothing ever happens. so keep you fingers crossed that something actually happens this time around. and until it does remember when 11 o’clock rolls around, you don’t have to go home…but you cant stay here.
wake up on air with kenny jones weekdays from 7-11a exclusively on radio indigo 91.9.
